montessori

For more than a century now, the child-focused approach that Dr. Maria Montessori developed for educating children has been transforming schools around the globe.

As soon as you enter our classroom, you will see children working independently and in groups, often with specially designed learning materials; deeply engaged in their work; and respectful of themselves and their surroundings.

The Montessori Method fosters rigorous, self-motivated growth for children and adolescents in all areas of their development—cognitive, emotional, social, and physical.

The components of the Montessori curriculum consist of Practical Life, Sensorial, Mathematics, Language, and Culture (Geography, Science, Botany, Art, and Music). Practical Life is where your child will learn to master real life tasks that develop independence, coordination, order, and concentration, such as learning to pour from a pitcher, spoon from a bowl, sew, and clean. Sensorial is the foundation of the Montessori method, developing all the human senses through helping children to order, compare, and classify sensory stimulation. Mathematics materials in the classroom help create the foundation for cognitive development and help the child move from concrete to abstract thinking. Language materials introduce vocabulary, writing, and reading. Culture helps children explore the world around them.

Outdoor environment

The outdoor environment is designed to provide unstructured opportunities for children to explore, create, and connect with nature in a safe environment. In addition to the Montessori classroom inside, the outside environment will offer large wide-open spaces, areas of thick and mature vegetation, and a year-round garden.
